Founder/Chief Scientist

Joe Kurian, PhD

A research leader in molecular biology, endocrinology, and neuroscience, Dr. Kurian brings scientific rigor and translational insight to Regenerative Medicine Laboratory Solutions. Trained at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a global pioneer in human embryonic stem cell research, Joe went on to lead an academic laboratory and teach at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, building a career at the intersection of fundamental biology and clinical application.

As a Scientific Director within contract research organizations, Joe helped scientists move their research forward more efficiently through strong experimental foundations, infrastructure development, and practical scientific support. His work is driven by a long-standing commitment to advancing regenerative medicine and its potential to help people live healthier, longer lives.

Outside the laboratory, Joe is a lifelong endurance athlete and 15-time Ironman and ultramarathoner. He brings the same discipline and long-term perspective to personal health, community engagement, and supporting efforts that help people stay well over time.


Joe Thomas, BBA

Partner/Chief Strategist

A proven leader both on and off the field, Joe Thomas brings discipline, strategic thinking, and operational excellence to Regenerative Medicine Laboratory Solutions. Since retiring from professional football, he has built and managed a diverse portfolio of businesses spanning agriculture, food, real estate, sports performance, and media—consistently translating elite performance standards into sustainable growth and long-term value.

The true endurance athlete on the Team, Joe is a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer, known as the NFL’s “Iron Man,” having played 10,363 consecutive snaps without missing a start over an 11-year career.


Jaclyn Fontanetta, CPA

Business Manager

Jaclyn serves as Business Manager for Regenerative Medicine Laboratory Solutions, providing operational and financial oversight in support of the company’s work. A CPA by training, she brings deep experience in accounting, operations, and client services across regulated and professional services environments. In addition to her primary professional role, Jaclyn supports RMLS by advising on financial structure, operational processes, and business organization—helping ensure clarity, compliance, and reliable execution. Her practical, detail-oriented approach allows the scientific team to remain focused on research and delivery while maintaining strong operational foundations.

Jaclyn is a 3 time marathoner and half Ironman finisher. She is also a wordsmith and undefeated in Scrabble at RLMS


Chief Health Care Officer

Ken Krimpelbein, DC

Dr. Ken Krimpelbein graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College; he has run and maintained a successful practice since 1995. In April of 2005, The American Chiropractor featured Dr. Ken in an article entitled “The Amazing Chiropractor.” Ken is a member of the International Chiropractic Association, American Chiropractic Association and Wisconsin Chiropractic Association (WCA). In 1998, he was elected by peers to serve as President of the Southeast District of our State Association. In 2007 he was elected by his peers to serve as Board Member of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association. Dr. Ken has been Granted a Certificate in Nutritional Counseling by the State of Wisconsin. In 2008, Dr. Ken received a First Line Therapy Certificate in nutrition, diet and lifestyle modifications. He has spent over 700 post-doctorate hours furthering his knowledge in spinal corrective techniques, fitness and nutrition.

A retired competitive body-builder and power-lifter, Ken trains daily at his Wellness Center Gym, doing an amazing job keeping up with his sons that are following in his footsteps.


Chief Compliance Officer

Sean Schmelzer, MBA

Sean Schmelzer serves as Chief Compliance Officer at Regenerative Medicine Laboratory Solutions, bringing decades of experience in regulated industries, operational oversight, and risk-aware decision making. He holds an MBA from Concordia University–Wisconsin and an engineering background from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, pairing technical fluency with strong business judgment.

Sean spent over a decade at Rockwell Automation and Johnson Controls, where he held senior roles spanning product management, energy management, portfolio leadership, and commercial operations. His work required navigating complex regulatory environments, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance across technical, operational, and business domains.

At RMLS, Sean provides compliance leadership grounded in real-world operational experience, helping ensure scientific work is conducted responsibly, consistently, and in alignment with applicable standards. Outside of work, he is a lifelong athlete, participating in powerlifting, hockey, and marathoning—and, while Dr. Kurian may not like to admit it, Sean is widely regarded as the best golfer at RMLS.
